About the Project

About the Project:

The Fear Box is an interdisciplinary project by Samantha Zucker.

The project consists of a wooden, handcrafted box with “FEAR” spelled across the front.

Fears submitted by viewers into the box will be examined. All names and signatures will be withheld. A culminating exhibit was hosted by the Squirrel Hill JCC for a month’s time.

This tumblr is the project’s online home where the box’s progress can be followed. Users are also encouraged to submit fears to be posted to the blog. If a post of yours has been reblogged and you would like it removed, please send a request and it will be taken down immediately.

If you are interested in hosting the project or would like to discuss other opportunity for it, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Blog Policy:

I try to run everything in my life with politeness and respect. I believe that saying thank you and words of support can only be positive. Fear is an incredibly hard subject to discuss, especially publicly, and I’m amazed everyday at the bravery of the people who submit to this blog. I really do hope the process helps make you a stronger person. And I hope The Fear Blog can be an encouraging and supportive community. If you know what a person is going through or share their fear, like it. Let them know they’re not alone.

Fears submitted here may also be used in the final exhibit and elsewhere in line with the project’s guidelines. I take privacy very seriously and if you ever change your mind or have any concerns, let me know and fears can be taken down, no questions asked. The last thing I want is to cause anyone a greater amount of fear.
